In 2020 we invited you to a fully digital event on Zoom.

  • We had scientific talks from top international keynote speakers.

  • Experienced Digital Life Norway projects presented their scientific results as well as lessons learnt with regard to responsible research and innovation (RRI), innovation, data management, career development and cross-project collaboration, which is altogether within the foundation of the DLN centre.

  • We invited you to take part in small social groups

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

  • Dr. Karen E. Nelson, President of the J Craig Venter Institute

Dr. Nelson has worked at JCVI for more than 20 years and is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Nelson led the first human metagenomics study that was published in 2006, and she is in the forefront when it comes to the study of the relationship between the microbiome and various human and animal diseases. It is also worth mentioning that Dr. Nelson has a great commitment to the training of the next generation of scientists.

  • Professor Dr. Barend Mons, GO FAIR International Support and Coordination Office, President of CODATA

Professor Dr. Mons is a molecular biologist by training and a leading FAIR data specialist. The first decade of his scientific career he spent on fundamental research on malaria parasites and later on translational research for malaria vaccines. Twenty years ago, he switched to advanced data stewardship and (biological) systems analytics.
