Project overview

Research group

Good soil health is crucial for the sustainable development of agriculture. The project aims to develop diagnostic tools to map microorganisms important for agriculture. The purpose is to offer precise digital tools for farmers and others in agriculture to help them to more easily find ways to improve soil health.

Agriculture is directly affected by climate change, and there is a growing need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the sector and have more sustainable food systems. There is also a need to improve food quality and reduce food soil erosion.

The project will integrate data on soil and other agroclimatic data and develop digital tools.

The project is linked to the SPARK Norway project Healthy soils for a healthy life at UiO.
