News from Centre for Digital Life Norway! – message from the centre leaders

We have had an active August this year! Digital Life Norway (DLN), together with ELIXIR Norway and NTNU Biotechnology was present at Arendalsuka, the largest political gathering in Norway, and on the 17th of August we arranged a panel discussion on "Rules for Open Data Sharing - Assistance or Obstacle?".
On the 23rd of August DLN, together with University in Bergen (UiB) and Eitri Medical Incubator, we arranged a mini-seminar at UiB focusing on the innovation ambitions of DLN and in particular with the Innovation Roadmap initiative.
Our annual conference, Digital Life 2023, is now fully booked and we can’t wait to meet up with everyone attending at Solstrand next week outside Bergen 7-8th of September.
This year our focus is on innovation, but spans a range of topics from groundbreaking basic science to the how-to of industry collaboration. The program includes professor Virginijus Šikšnys, who’s research on the CRISPR-Cas has had a major impact in the field of gene editing.
We are also privileged to have Mariana Matus, CEO and co-founder of Biobot Analytics, coming all the way from the United States to share her insights on translating science to entrepreneurship with us.
In addition, we are having very interesting sessions with highly competent people looking closer at topics concerning many researchers in Norway and Europe currently; the future of research funding in Norway and what innovation beyond commercialization looks like?
Like previous years, we are having a public pre-event the evening before the annual conference kicks off. On Wednesday 6. September at 18:30 four young researchers are sharing their research with us at the University Museum in Bergen. The event is open for all and we hope to see you there!
