The Expert Task Force (ETF) is part of the The Centre for Digital Life Norway (DLN) competence hub. It has scientific representatives who contribute to the centre's work as part of their job at the host institutions NTNU, UiO, UiB, NMBU, OUS, SINTEF and UiT. An important task of the expert task force is to anchor the activities of the centre in the host institutions.

About Ilangko Balasingham

Professor Balasingham is Group Leader of the Wireless Sensor Network Research Group at Oslo University Hospital. His expertise lies in medical signal and image processing, wireless biomedical sensor networks for short range sensing, imaging, localization and communication, synthetic molecular communication, computational models for targeted drug delivery, and machine learning.

"Incorporating sensors, wireless technologies, and actuators with bio-compatible implants opens the door to groundbreaking personalized diagnostics and drug delivery solutions. Having dedicated years to this interdisciplinary research, I see immense potential for scientific, clinical, and industrial innovations that I am eager to share and explore with DLN members."

Professor Balasingham replaces Professor Arnoldo Frigessi.

About Sabina Leanti La Rosa

Associate Professor La Rosa works at The Norwegian University of Life Sciences, NMBU, and focuses on human and salmon gut microbiomes, multi-omics, carbohydrate and plastic-degrading enzymes, and prebiotics.

“I have worked in microbiology and biotechnology for a long time, and I see these fields as cornerstones to meeting many of the current global needs and challenges. In particular, I am interested in developing novel solutions and value creation within the areas of health and process industry as well as promoting sustainable growth in Norwegian aquaculture. There are lots of opportunities to expand value creation, innovation and transdisciplinary research within the field of biotechnology in Norway, and I am excited to be an active contributor to the DLN’s ambitious goal!”

DLN would like to thank Arnoldo Frigessi (OUS/UiO) and Phillip Pope (NMBU) for valuable input while they were Expert Task Force members:

We thank Phil Pope for being part of the ETF of DLN 2.0 and wish him the best with his new position as Professor at the Faculty of Health at Queensland University of Technology.

While Arnoldo Frigessi will no longer serve on DLN’s EFT, he continues to play an active role in the groundbreaking Roadmap for academic research-intensive innovation  here at the Centre.
