DLN Junior Resource Group – Call for new members

The Digital Life Norway (DLN) Junior Resource Group (JRG) is recruiting new members to be a voice of young researchers in the life sciences in Norway. A major focus of DLN is to train and support a new generation of transdisciplinary life scientists. The JRG provides advice and feedback that help shape the DLN’s activities to reach PhD students and postdocs.

Apply by November 4, 2024

The JRG is a resource for the Centre and the Research School. As a member, you serve as a link between younger biotechnology researchers in Norway and DLN. The JRG tasks are varied and depend on the skills of the members. Some examples include operational activities like event planning and execution (for both DLN and the Research School) and reviewing applications, as well as providing advice on events and courses and offering feedback to the Centre from an emerging researcher perspective. Tasks are versatile and open to personal preferences, so new JRG member(s) should be someone who likes to take initiative and engage.

A unique role in DLN's last year

As Digital Life Norway concludes in January 2026, this final cohort of JRG members will also have a unique role for DLN during 2025 by looking back and summarizing the Centre’s role for early career researchers. We can use these reflections in the concluding materials of DLN (e.g., website, final report).

JRG Expectations

JRG members perform tasks individually and collectively. The members of JRG are expected to attend monthly digital meetings, 1-2 annual meetings in person to discuss strategy, current projects and other fun stuff, and support DLN in planning local activities such as meet-ups. Expected time commitment: several hours per month.
