Innovation pilot kick-off with the Calinhib project

Exciting kick-off meeting this week with the promising Calinhib project – aiming at developing pharmacological treatment of calcification of heart valves.

The meeting officially starts the pilot “Academic Business Developer” which is part of the project “Innovation Roadmap” – a roadmap for academic research intensive innovation" that’s funded by the Research Council of Norway.

We are very pleased to have gathered such a competent group from industry representatives, Centre for Digital Life Norway, Spark Norway, and Veksthuset for verdiskaping – UiO Growth House to be part of this pilot.

Background:
There is a need among the academic research groups for human resources with capacity and interest to focus on innovation, and to work on business development activities needed to bring ideas from research into a validated business concepts. The purpose of this pilot is therefore to offer Digital Life Norway research projects funding to cover 6-12 months salary for a resource ("a champion") that will focus on business/project development of a specific business idea coming from a project.

Important learning aspects from the pilot will be included in the Innovation Roadmap project.
