The Digital Salmon hits the big screen
Are you curious about how digital methods will transform food production? Here's the story in three animated minutes:
Making the video has been an exciting challenge. It's hard to visualize something so abstract as mathematical modelling, i.e. using computations to understand how nature works. Fortunately our team included Tor Martin Austad (Visual Lab), dual-wielding degrees in animation and biology, and Kristine Løwe from the NMBU communications department, who wrote the first ever newsflash about the DigiSal project ☺.
Tor Martin has a knack for translating concepts to objects that do stuff onscreen, and Kristine manages to capture the essence of complex research in few, simple words. You may also like other animations by Visual Lab and NMBU, e.g. Everything that can be made from oil, can be made from trees.
