Upon registration, please state your full name, institution and the research school you are affiliated with.

There are two types of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

The European Postdoctoral Fellowships

These are open to excellent researchers of any nationality. The Fellowships last for up to 24 months. Under Horizon Europe the Fellowships can now be extended to 2.5 years by a 6-month secondment implemented in the non-academic sector.

To be eligible to apply, the applicant:

  • Must possess a PhD by the call deadline.
  • Must have less than 8 years of full-time research experience, post PhD.
  • Cannot have been living in Norway for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the call deadline.

The Global Postdoctoral Fellowships

These are open to European nationals or long-term residents of EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries (i.e. they have a period of legal and continuous residence of at least five consecutive years). These Fellowships last for up to 36 months and consist of an outgoing phase of up to 24 months in a non-associated Third Country (e.g. New Zealand, US), followed by a mandatory 12-month return phase to NTNU.

The Global Postdoctoral Fellows are employed by NTNU throughout their Fellowship and work with two supervisors (one at NTNU and one in the Third Country). The Fellowship can also be extended by an additional 6-month secondment in a non-academic sector organisation.

To be eligible to apply, the applicant:

  • Must be an European national or long-term resident of an EU Member State or an Horizon Europe Associated Country.
  • Must possess a PhD by the call deadline.
  • Must have less than 8 years of full-time research experience, post PhD.
  • Cannot have been living in the Third Country where they will spend their outgoing for more than 12 months in the 36 months preceding the call deadline.
