Workshop: Software carpentry

Software Carpentry aims to help researchers get their work done in less time and with less pain by teaching them basic research computing skills. This hands-on workshop will cover basic concepts and tools, including program design, version control, and task automation. 

This course is hosted by the Centre for Digital Life Norway, ELIXIR-NorwayNRIS and the University of Bergen Library Digital Lab. It is open to all PhD students, postdocs and researchers. This course gives a basic introduction to programming using The Unix Shell, R, and Git. 

Requirements:

No prior programming knowledge is required. Participants must have access to a computer with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on.
