Communications

Effective internal and external communication is crucial in order to reach the goals of Centre for Digital Life Norway (DLN). The Communications Adviser develops and implements plans for communication between and across the competence hub, the projects, owner institutions and other stakeholders. We encourage projects in the Centre to communicate across disciplines and projects and to make their research accessible to the public through popular science communication.

The Communications Adviser is responsible for managing this website, monthly newsletters, social media channels and for coordinating the Centre's communication activities. We also offer advice to the member projects to assist their communication needs.

The Annual Digital Life Conference

Strindens Promenade Orchester is a Trondheim based student orchestra that opened the Digital Life conference in October 2022.

Once a year, DLN convenes at the annual Digital Life conference. This is the primary opportunity for our intellectual community to meet, learn from each other and create synergies across projects.

This as an important meeting arena for the whole Digital Life community that includes all the member projects, the competence hub, partner institutions and several other stakeholders working with biotechnology and the life sciences.

Below you can see a quick recap from our last two conferences in 2022 and 2021.

Quick recap of Digital Life 2022 conference

The 2022 theme was how to work transdisciplinary in biotechnology, and we got exposed to many good examples on how this can be done. We also had insightful workshops and a poster session back by popular demand this year.  Here is a quick recap of the conference with video recordings of the plenary event.

Quick recap of the Digital Life Conference 2021

The 2021 conference had excellent talks on biotechnology and intellectual property rights, and important discussions  about transdisciplinarity following the launch of the whitepaper “Transdisciplinarity in Digital Life Norway”. Read the recap here.

Science communication

Popular science challenge at public event in Trondheim. The challenge was tackled head-on by young researchers from Digital Life Norway member projects in October 2022 in the event "Science to the people" (Click on the image to get a full recap in Norwegian)

Popular science helps to increase the participation of more people in society in research and allows them to contribute with their own perspectives.

Centre for Digital Life Norway encourage our member projects to share their research and make it understandable and accessible for other disciplines and the public in general. This is an important part of working towards the Centre's overall goal to foster transdisciplinary collaboration and contribute to responsible and sustainable creation of value for Norwegian society.
